CW1 Research: Video interview with Erwin Olaf

I am continuing with my research into portraits and how we read them.  One photographer who creates some amazing images is Erwin Olaf.  In a similar style to Miles Aldridge Olaf’s images often contain people with really mysterious vacant expressions.  The narratives within his images do make the mind wander.  One of his books comes with a dvd where there is sound and motion added which almost bring the images within the book to life.  A great original idea which I am sure more photographers will be using in the future.  I am already starting to experiment with sound which I am going to add to a body of work.  This should give the viewer of the images a whole new experience.

Below is a video of an interview with Erwin Olaf where he talks about his work.
