Picturing the Body: Selecting the final image and how I got there…

As the time draws near to the end of this module I am in the process of selecting my final image.  The image itself has been selected and the crop decided upon.  Its just a case of looking at the kind of exposure that I think suits what I am trying to create.  As this is being done in the darkroom it is not a process that can be rushed.

After much deliberation I am going to go with the image on the far right (number 3)  Although the purists/anoraks (delete as appropriate) may point out that it looks over exposed, well that may be the case.  However, as with many things the attraction is in the detail.  Number three shows a great deal of strong shadow in the dark areas and the goose bumps on the leg does add something.  And as the image is so bright your eye is naturally drawn to these slightly darker details.
