354MC Professional Practice Portfolio: Preparation for hanging of the work

leave a comment »

After having various meetings with Sadie Kerr, Paul Smith and Greg it was established that we (the students) would be able to start hanging our work in the gallery from Wednesday 30th May.

Upon hearing this I posted a message on Facebook informing all the students that they needed to ensure that they had the correct tools to hang their work as this would not be done for them.  I managed to list the items that I thought would be required.

In the statement on Facebook I stated that ‘If possible each person needs to bring a drill, screwdriver, screws with suitable rawl plugs. spirit level, tape measure and a pencil (for marking where to drill holes etc..) In fact, anything that you need to hang or display your work.’.

Everything seems to be running smoothly so far and this is mainly due to cooperation between those of us who are responsible for the curation.  I am taking this role seriously, as I know that a lot of people are depending on me to make sure that there are no major problems with the installation of the images.
