354MC Professional Practice Portfolio: Installation of images for exhibition

leave a comment »

Yesterday the installation started for the Exposure 24 exhibition at the New Lanchester Gallery.  There were no major problems as such, just a few people not turning up which meant more work for others.  This did create a problem as there was painting to do and lots oaf cleaning up and moving of pallets.

As many of the students had not turned up, their work could not be seen and therefore trying to allocate a display area for them was made all the more harder.

A couple of people did mange to get their work hung, including myself.  I had to ask curator Sadie Kerr to help me work out the exact height and distance between all my images so they they looked balanced on the wall.  Not a simple task to work out, but something that had to be done properly.  I got it slightly wrong the first time, hence why I am returning today with filler to fill the holes which were made in error.
