354MC Professional Practice Portfolio: Degree show private view

Friday evening was the degrees show private view which was held at the New Lanchester Gallery in Coventry.  This was the result of three years hard work, and a visual statement showing just how far many of us had come.

I have to admit, it was quite surreal seeing this project evolve from a huge pile of images on a magnetic wall, narrowed down to ten, and then framed in a gallery.

As the crowds made their way around the various displays complete with champagne in hand, feedback was given to those exhibitors with work on display.

Simon Derry from City College in Coventry (where I completed by BTEC three years earlier) attended.  He was one of my main tutors there and he was really pleased with how my photographic practice had developed.  I was even more taken aback when he asked for a signed copy of my book.

Well the exhibition runs until June 10th so if you have not had chance to see it, then get yourself along.  There is some great on display with the majority for sale at reasonable prices.
